Personal Pofile: Asset / Maintenance Planner, Quantity Surveyor and CMMS Implementation I have worked in the construction, maintenance and oil and gas industries; and am a professionally qualified Quantity Surveyor.
Graduated BSc (Hons) Geology from the University of Durham in 1988 and subsequently employed by Tarmac plc as a Trainee Commercial Manager (Quantity Surveyor) in the Construction Division. During seven years with Tarmac, I completed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) final examinations and progressed to the position of Project Surveyor.
I moved to Haden Building Management Ltd (part of the BICC /Balfour Beatty Group) in 1995 and remained for five years, progressing to the position of Northern Division Support Services Manager.
In 1999, I decided to ‘branch out’ and secured a short-term overseas contract with Veba Oil Operations, then a permanent position with Repsol Oil Operations in Libya until 2003.
In 2003, I returned to the UK and joined TCR Interiors Ltd. In 2006, I returned to Repsol in Libya, now known as Akakus Oil Operations. In 2009 I moved from Akakus (Repsol) to Mellitah Oil and Gas (Eni).
Regrettably, in March 2011 due to the situation in Libya, I am now looking for another position in Asset / Maintenance Planning, or Quantity Surveying.
